Natasja Sadi handcrafting lifelike sugar flowers, transforming ordinary sugar into extraordinary floral art.

About me

Since I began creating this art, it has been my goal is to change everyday sugar into extraordinary, lifelike flowers, capturing their beauty forever not just on cakes but also in photos that you can keep. By handcrafting each petal and teaching others through my workshops and books, I help more people discover the joy of creating and preserving beauty. I believe in the power of art to connect us to nature and each other, making the world a sweeter place, one flower at a time.

My journey

Born in Suriname, throughout my life I’ve been captivated by vivid environments filled with light and colour.

I’m a floral artist and the world around me has always been an endless source of intrigue and creative inspiration. These fascinations fuel my work, from my background in creating bridal couture to now composing and photographing fresh flower arrangements and sculpting ethereal sugar flowers in the Dutch still life tradition from my home atelier in Amsterdam.

Always deeply inspired by nature, my celebration cakes are lifelike resemblances of floral beauty.

Designing elegant cakes adorned with delicate sugar flowers, to share and to be kept as a memento, I’ve transitioned from focusing on the personal moment to a shared one. Celebrating and eating together.

I’ve been honored to have created sugar flower arrangements and cakes for clients from New York to Paris.

My floral photography and sugar flowers have been featured in international magazines such as Elle Décor USA, Flower  Magazine and Dutch Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

I find tremendous joy in teaching and sharing my flower passions. I’m honored to have taught floral design and the secrets of sugar flower artistry in Europe, Asia, South Africa, and North America.
