Over the last few years “happy Sunday from my home to yours” has for those of you familiar with @cakeatelieramsterdam on Instagram become a well known phrase. A phrase that marks every new flower arrangement I compose and then photograph, using fresh flowers from my local market here in Amsterdam, plus the occasional sugar flower. Creating these Sunday floral arrangements in the tradition of Dutch still life master style is my way of trying to capture timelessness. That existing moment we perceive something beautiful.
